Challenge
With no print media to deliver the content, CodeBreaker 2006 presented a new challenge: how to create a compelling interactive media using digital media only.

Solution
While simple cell phone competitions can easily get kids participating, there is virtually no educational value in having them send thousands of meaningless SMSes. If the aim is change attitudes then SMS competitions need to be driven by meaningful activities, and there is no better means of creating meaningful participation than through the use of stories.For CodeBreaker 2006 we created a new story for the CodeBreaker heroes. A famous scientist is abducted by a sinister group called The Brotherhood, and the CodeBreakers are called in to solve the case. Youth from across South Africa participated online to help the CodeBreakers crack the case.
